ANISUZZAMAN

Anisuzzaman was born in Pabna in 1972. Anisuzzaman's impressive educational background includes a degree in printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka in 1993. He holds two master's degrees in printmaking, one from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, in 1997, and another from Tama Art University, Tokyo, in 2008. In 2004, Anisuzzaman received further training at the Glasgow Print Studio and the London Print Studio. For his unique life-size prints developed from wooden panels Anisuzzaman has received several prestigious awards, including an Honourable Mention Award in the 18th National Art Exhibition, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, in 2009, the Grand Prize at 13th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh, in 2008, and Best Award in Print, 85th Shunyo-kai Art Exhibition, Japan, in 2008. He also received numerous grants for his unique practice, which include  the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, New York, in 2008,  The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant, Canada, in the years 2007, 2005, 2004, and the Commonwealth Arts and Crafts Award, UK, from 2002-0, Japanese government Monbukagakusho scholarship that took him to Japan where he studied from 2004 to 2008.
