ANUKUL CHANDRA MOJUMDER

Anukul’s paintings are developed using a mix of conventional and idiosyncratic techniques in charcoal and acrylic while offering a glimpse into the traditional life of the community in his birthplace Bagerhat and also in Dhaka where he now lives paints.


Born in Batherhat in 1974, Anukul Chandra Mojumder came to Dhaka to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. Here he perfected his skills in drawing and painting and discovered his own voice, standing out among his peers. Anukul has held over a dozen solos worldwide, each of which demonstrated his artistic mastery along with the evolution and trajectory in minimalist style that he is now known for today.


Anukul’s works have been widely exhibited in Dhaka, such as Gallery Shilpangan, the Nordic Club, the Canadian Club and Edge Gallery. He was part of many group exhibitions, including an array of prestigious cultural centers such as Art Complex Centre in Tokyo, the Birla Academy of Art and Culture in Kolkata, and in Poland, Oregon organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.


His art can bee seen in institutions such as Bangladesh Bank, Shilpakala Academy, Bengal Foundation and Bay Developments Ltd., as well as in prestigious private collections at home and abroad.
